Last win for a Buick until the 1981 Daytona 500.

This would have been the playoff cutoff race

Tim Flock and Lee Petty would have tied for the championship, Flock
having 13 wins, and Petty 6...Arden Mounts was the 1st driver out,
missing the playoff by 20 points...Again I'm using the 2016 format

Herb Thomas drives the same Buick in which he flipped and got injured in
the Charlotte race to a win at Raleigh. He and Fonty Flock kept each
other close within the first 3/4 of the race, then Herb got past and
pulled away for the win.
