Jim Reed spun out Tim Flock who had dominated on the last lap. NASCAR
disqualified Reed and gave the win to Flock.

Strange situation as Tim Flock crashed on the last lap after help from
Jim Reed (meaning Tim actually DNF'd on the spot), but Jim Reed REFUSED
to take the victory and asked to be DSQ'd. NASCAR was, of course, happy
to disqualify the New Yorker. So, in reality, Tim Flock did not finish
the race.

Should he be listed as... crashed?**

That has to be one of the strangest things I've ever heard. The winning
car fails to finish the race. Mind blown.

Hey guys, the reason why Jim Reed was disqualified for this race was
because NASCAR found in post-race inspection that he wasn't using stock
cylinder heads. So it wasn't because he wrecked Tim Flock, he ran him
down, passed him, and got his win taking away via NASCAR for using
non-stock cylinder heads.
