Scott B posted: 12.15.2018 - 7:37 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) In a move that would be unthinkable in today's NASCAR, Fonty Flock begins the 1956 season in a Pete DePaolo Ford, after spending most of the previous year in arch rival Carl Kiekhaefer's Chryslers. Meanwhile, brother Tim Flock wins this race for Kiekhaefer. Very next race of 1956 at Charlotte, Fonty is back with Kiekhaefer after his one race deal with DePaolo, and wins that one from the pole. Imagine that kind of fluidity in the sport now, especially with drivers in the very top tier of talent. 4. ScottB posted: 11.07.2019 - 4:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) I don't know what the violation was, but there is a story that Lee Petty was the one who filed the protest and something outside the rules was confirmed when the #91 was inspected after the race.
