The fact is, is that during the two races at this track, the track used an oily-sandy dirt substance, that took the form of a hard surface. Therefore it easy to confuse the two substances. 7. Scott B posted: 09.30.2013 - 12:39 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Like many early West Coast races, this was a combined event for Grand National and the Pacific Coast series (which would evolve into the current K&N Pro Series West). This is why you see cars up to 5 years old entered, instead of the usual 3 year limit for Grand National sanctioned events. Confusingly, it was the final race of the 1955 season for the Pacific Coast points, but was race number three of the 1956 season for Grand National, which started counting races toward the new season before the calendar year changed. 9.
