The race that NASCAR cracked down:
NASCAR disqualified Joe Weatherly and Jim Reed who finished 1-2 in this
race. Bill France, President of NASCAR, said that he wasn't kidding when
he said that NASCAR would determine just what constituted "stock" in
stock car racing.
Most people couldn't believe it, but they found out that Bill France
meant just what he said.

@4 In the very first cup race Glenn Dunaway was DQed after winning by 3
laps over Jim Roper so Roper won the race while not completing 3 laps.

@5 That would make three cases, that I know of because it also happened
at least once in 1957 as well. Somewhat of a unique stat.
