In order of when the wreck happened, Jim Wilson and his teammate Buddy Krebs, Junior Johnson, and Russ Truelove. Also, there's no error. Carl Kiekhaefer made an error, and by the time he noticed, the entries were already in, so he couldn't change it. 7. Truelove had driven the car down from Connecticut, where he worked as a service manager in a Lincoln-Mercury dealership. It looked like he was stuck for a ride home. But luckily for him, a man from Hartford was in Daytona repossessing cars, and offered Truelove a ride home in one. 13. I believe this was the case for all Kiekhaefer cars in 1956. 14. Anonymous posted: 10.26.2014 - 11:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Withdrew: #424 L.C. Rigsby in his 1954 Olds. Spen posted: 02.28.2021 - 8:09 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) A note for the webmaster: I've discovered a glitch in the driver rankings page. If a driver doesn't have a listed status in a race, that race isn't counted in their average finish or average start. For instance, Lee Petty is listed as having 396 career starts instead of 427. This race is where I learned the cause, as Speedy Thompson is only given credit for 41 starts in 1956's average finish page, and taking out his 71st here moved his average finish from 9.6 up to 8.1. So if there's any way of getting that back the way it used to be, it would be greatly appreciated. 29. webmaster posted: 03.01.2021 - 8:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Thanks for the heads-up, Spen.
