John McVitty was killed while qualifying for this race.

It was the last fatality at this track, but by that time, too many
drivers had been killed for NASCAR to want to keep racing there.

McVitty was actually killed in practice, not qualifying. Thus he should
be listed as a withdrawal or not listed at all.
