Timberwolf Frenzel posted: 08.20.2011 - 5:16 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) This was probably the race where Lloyd Dane made a last lap pass on Curley Barker, making it the second Cup race to be decided by a last lap pass, the first one being the 1953 Daytona Beach-Road Course Race, when Bill Blair made his move on Fonty Flock. This was Blair's third and final win.:.( It was also his only win of the season, but that's tale for another time. Anyway, this was the second victory for Dane and his last for that season. I believe this was Barker's best race, as he never won.:( Dane and Barker would never again in there careers be involved in another last-lap showdown. 3.
