The track at Richmond has changed lengths multiple times throughout its
existence. It was 0.5 miles from 1953-69. They ran one race at a .625
mile configuration in 1968. Then it was .542 from 1969-88. The .75-mile
Richmond that we know and love today had its first race in the fall of
1988.
