Truelove and his car would gain notably status in the 90s when he restored his old red race car, one of the few real cars from that era left, back to mint condition. From 21-25 it was $60. 26-30 gave you $50. 31-40 gave you $25. From then on you didn't score any, perhaps because only 40 cars were intended to start the race and 17 other fast cars were allowed to start. Banjo Matthews picked up $100 I guess because he started from pole. It doesn't look like prize money was awarded for laps led. 12. The average speed was 99.097 miles per hour which was a new record 19.
