After losing the lead to Ralph Moody, Fireball Roberts developed engine
issues and finished 18 laps back. He still finished in the top 10 though.

Buck Baker moved into second place in the season point championship
race, but Marvin Panch still led by 416 points at this time. He'd catch
him eventually.
