His and Billy Myers' starting positions may be mixed up. 6. toomuchcountry posted: 05.19.2015 - 4:53 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Billy Myers was leading the race with about 60 laps to go. He was trying to lap Tom Pistone. In doing so, the two collided. Pistone straightened his car and continued. Myers headed for the wall and then jumped it near where a crowd of folks were standing. A few were hit by debris, treated and then released. But a 10 year-old boy suffered a serious but non-lethal head injury. 7. nascar_vd / Racing-Reference.info posted: 08.21.2017 - 8:57 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Note: qualifying results are now available. 8. nascar_vd /racing-reference.info posted: 02.13.2018 - 11:52 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Note concerning the withdraw: Jim Linke #881 was initially 18th in qualifying, withdraw due to engine problem. Note: Bill Bowman, initially DNQ and first alternate driver was upgraded in the starting field with the WD of Jim Linke. 9. It's cool that this was very legendary duo coming together in a time before that legendary status came to be at the hands of the next generation. 10. There were some spectators standing at the point the car went off track- they weren't supposed to be standing there, but Myer's car hit them, and a young boy had a bad head laceration. It bothered me quite a bit, because I thought the kid got killed, and I didn't find out until four or five months later that the kid was all right, and that's when I returned to NASCAR." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
