Note: Fireball Roberts made a short pit stop under a caution flag, then
ran second to Lee Petty while expecting to catch up when Petty had to
stopā?¦ With 10 laps to go, Roberts turned on the steam in an effort to
take the race but couldn't catch the flying Petty. Roberts finished a
close second.
Caution: 1+ (exact number ?)

This race took place three days after the Launch of Sputnik 2 and the
Levelland, Texas UFO sightings.
