Webmaster, Smith led 211 laps, not 111. 4. This is using the point system used by the Busch and Truck series until the late '90s, 180 points for a win and -NO- bonus points for laps led. 204 different drivers started at least one race, with Lee Petty starting five more races than the next highest driver. Here are the top 25: 1. Lee Petty 6490 2. Cotton Owens 5048 (-1,442!) 3. Buck Baker 4633 4. L.D. Austin 4108 5. Herman Beam 3753 6. Junior Johnson 3744 7. Roy Tyner 3591 8. Speedy Thompson 3543 9. Herb Thomas 5+2 = 7. Tim Flock 2+4 = 6. *TTSS* Every race can have 2 winners, awarded equal points except bonuses. Then equal points goes for every next pair of cars/drivers: 3+4, 5+6, etc. This TTSS adds to races not only feud, but also a co-operation. Every year/season can have 2 "gold" champions, then 2 "silver", 2 "bronze", etc. The basic idea is to compare current race/year system (aka "deficit") with TTSS (aka "plentiness"). No need to have 3 (triple) or more winners, as 2 is just oke to compare the root. 7. nascar_vd /racing-reference.info posted: 01.12.2018 - 12:06 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Sorry guys but, really, I don't see where is the interest of this kind of "calculations"... 8. It would break the record set by Tim Flock in 1955, but today, it isn't the biggest margin by a long shot. 11.
