Imagine seeing these two at a little dirt track at that stage of their careers. 4. Lots of laps led are not accounted for in this race. Very likely Rex White was out front for more than one, but since all we know for certain is that Petty passed him for the lead, he's shown with just the one lap he must have led for that to happen. Qualifiers 1 through 5 were all DNF's, so there were a lot of cars with potential to get to the lead in the early part of the race.
