I wonder if some of these entries were just to bring the car count up. 2. In this era, as now, non-American brands were not usually allowed in NASCAR. From the second volume of Greg Fielden's "Forty Years of Stock Car Racing" comes this tidbit: "Charles Kolb, an SCCA amateur participant, elected to withdraw moments before the start of the race to retain his amateur status. Kolb had won his 25 lap heat race after starting last." No other info was given other than his name and why he withdrew. 4.
