Judging from the rest of the starting lineup, it looks like the 18th position is missing. So that's probably where he qualifyed. 6. Baker did it in incredible fashion, as he was leading with 20 to go with Fireball Roberts and Richard Petty following behind. Roberts had caught Baker with 10 to go and was making a pass for the lead when his engine blew. Petty moved into second and was chasing down Baker when his left rear tire blew out with 4 laps to go. Baker seemed to be home clear until he blew a tire with 2 laps to go. He spun out, but was able to save the car and limped around the track on the white flag lap on just three wheels. Rex White passed Baker on the final lap, and took the checkered flag. However, NASCAR rechecked the scoring and determined that White was a lap down and had only gotten back on the lead lap when he passed Baker. Therefore, Buck Baker was declared the winner. 9. It's rare these days that we see 3 cars with mechanical issues in a single race, much less the top 3 cars have mechanical issues in the closing laps. It must have been hectic at times scoring those races before electronic timing and scoring came around, especially when business picked up on-track. 10.
