Wes Morgan flipped in this race.

Richard Petty also flipped in this race. Father Lee Petty flipped in the
2nd Qualifier, bad showing for the Petty's.

a man named george alsobrook from georgia was either trying or racing in
this event or so i thought. please research this person, he was driving
a 1961 ford thanks.

Junior Johnson blew a tire while running second which caused his car to
nudge into Richard Petty's sending Petty flying over the guardrail and
outside of the race track just like his father in the second race. Petty
had bits of glass in his eyes from his shattered windshield but was
otherwise uninjured. Johnson then hit the outside wall head on, the
impact was so hard that his engine ended up in the cockpit with him.
Many more cars were involved, causing NASCAR to end the race one lap early.

Despite being involved in the last lap crash, Bob Pronger gets his best
career finish in what would amount to be his last NASCAR start.
