50 years ago today was the first race for Wendell Scott. R.I.P. Wendell.

Wendell had just purchased this car from Buck Baker, at that time Buck
had a garage somewhere on or close to Riedville rd. in Spartenburg.
Wendell didn"t have time to change Buck"s number 87 on the car. As far
as I can tell that"s the only time Wendell drove a car with 87 as it"s
number.

Buck Baker's garage was up the ramp on the second floor at the corner
Broad Street and South Church Street where AArrangement Florist is now.
