This also happened six other times; 1953 - Hickory 1956 - Oklahoma City 1959 - Nashville 1964 - Savannah (race 20) 1964 - Savannah (race 57) 1964 - Myrtle Beach 4. Richard (love him) won. In Richard's career he won 200 races in 1184 starts while; Earnhardt only won 76 races in 676 starts and Johnson has won 83 in 651 starts (579) since his last win. All 3 are 7 time. The life long question who is the GOAT? I know Petty could not control who raced where and when but this an example of why Richard had another of many Gemmy's. Love the King but think about it. 6. Look at races like North Wilkesboro 1962 for better examples of Petty's greatness. 7.
