My daddy, Jim Sowder, was part of Stacy's pit crew this year! He loved
racing and enjoyed spectating till the end. He will be gone 5 years in
June. RIP DAD You are soooo missed and loved.

Note: Nelson Stacy made five pit stops during the race for 231 seconds
while the car #22 (Roberts-Panch) was in the pits four times for 158
seconds. But Stacy picked up the difference with most of his pit stops
Under the caution flag.

Note: Due to incomplete statistics we can not indicate the reasons for
the yellow flags. However here is the reason of the 6th (and last)
caution flag:

Y6 = Laps 347-353 (#6 blew engine and spun turn 3)

Note: Only 17 of the original 43 starters finished the race with three
under-speed qualifiers required to drop out after the second lap.
Officially the "handling" status was a NASCAR request. Today NASCAR
indicate "Too slow" in the race results for the same situation.

Note: Rex White (and owner Jack Smith) borrowed a 61 Pontiac. The
original '61 Pontiac has been disqualified before race time when NASCAR
inspectors found his engine illegally mounted about an inch and a half
back for better tire wear.

Sponsor fix: I think the sponsor for Stacy's car is supposed to be
"Ron's Ford Sales / Holt-Stacy." You currently have a question mark
instead of an apostrophe

Nelson Stacy becomes the first ARCA Champion, which I believe was known
as MARC at the time that he won his, to win a NASCAR Grand National race.
