A rare race where NASCAR allowed foreign cars.

Only start for sports car fanatic Kelly Ryan. Also the only start for
Jim Street, Bill Block, Steve Garrett, Bill Faulkner, Herbert Scott and
Doug Duvall.

And the second and final start for Paul Lyons and Robert Berrier. Lyons
matched his previous finish of 23rd.

I think it was the only start for an italian ALFA Romeo car.

First time Richard Petty scored consecutive victories, and he would make
it 3 in a row (as well as 4 of 5) at the next race in Spartanburg

Jack Smith dominates the first 3/4ths of the race only to lose the lead
to Petty, finishing a lap down in 2nd

Time of race must be wrong. If they ran the race in one hour, the
average speed would be 50 miles an hour.

That looks to be correct race time and average speed. The track is tiny,
you are turning all the time.

The time was originally erroneously shown as 1:00:04 instead of 1:04:00,
so it should be correct now.
