Nelson Stacy was seriously injured after being t-boned by Ted Hairfield
in the driver's door during a practice run for this one. He broke a
pelvis, fractured some ribs and landed up with leg injuries. This caused
the minimum amount of driver's side door bars to be increased from one
to two.
