Though outside pole-sitter Fireball Roberts kept White from leading a lap, the same fate befell both drivers before the race's conclusion, as crashes took them out of the event. 2. rob posted: 06.13.2013 - 8:51 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) i was at this race . johnson, roberts and white all crashed in turn one. lorenzen dominated before suffering a mechanical malady late. i wish i could remember what problem befell fast freddy, but i was only nine years old at the time. i do remember that a lot of cars had tire issues. my dad and i sat in turn three and we got covered in rubber from the overused treaded tires. 3. Couldn't get over (even at a young age) how neat and clean the place was. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
