junior johnson in the holly farms chevy had his race ending crash
directly in front of the holly farms scoreboard.

Note: A drizzle caused the last 20 laps of the race to be run under the
caution flag before a downpour finally stopped it at 257 laps.

Note: currently we have an incomplete qualifying result. Only the top4
position:
1) Fred Lorenzen: 96.15 mph
2) Tiny Lund: 95.66 mph.
3) Joe Weatherly: 95.58 mph
4) Junior Johnson: 95.34 mph.

North Carolina's own Richard Petty wins his third North Wilkesboro race
in a row. This was just the 19th win of his Cup career.

It was also the fourth win in a row for the #43, as Jim Paschal had won
Bowman-Gray during Perry's streak.

The title of the race is spelled "Gwyn Staley" not "Gywn Staley"
