Not only Lee Petty's final top 10 finish as indicated, but it was also
his final serious attempt at running a race. Although he made 2 more
starts the following season, they were both "start and parks".

Fred Lorenzen's runner-up finish was his best Cup finish on a road
course. All of his 26 career wins were on oval tracks.
