This actually would be the last win for a GM make in a "Modern Era" race
(250+ miles, paved track) until the 1971 spring Bristol race with
Charlie Glotzbach. The Ford and Chrysler makes dominated the bigger
races for the latter part of the premodern era.

GM had no involvement in NASCAR again until well after the Glotzbach win
while Ford and Mopar spent millions. Also the Glotzbach victory was
achieved in July, not exactly a spring day in Bristol.
