John Holman gave orders to Herb Nab (Fred Lorenzen's crew chief) to pit,
Herb refused. Fred Lorenzen went on the win the race. John Holman fired
Herb Nab for not pitting, only to be rehired 2 days later by Ralph Moody
(John Holman's business partner).

1. The list indicates "Probable Entries," not entries acually received
by NASCAR.

2. Seriously doubt that Foyt and Hurtubise were ever going to be at
Darlington in May.

And yes on the official NASCAR owner standings, the owner of the #87
Buck Baker in 1964 = J.C. Parker.

Right, the "probable" entry list available on some of the Old race
program are often simply the early year entries (including the Big D500
lineup). It's absolutely not a Real preliminary or entry list ! Race
program are often printing some weeks before the event.Please stop
sending this Kindle of erroneous informations.

My first Darlington race ! I was 10 years old. My family lived about an
hour away. The race didn't last much longer than the round trip !
