Wade and Jarrett were racing hard for the lead around lap 170 when Jarrett spun Wade out in turn 4. Wade did a 360°, but kept going (although he lost 2 laps trying to refire), and eventually caught up to Jarrett. Then, heading into turn 1, Wade pulled a Kenseth-at-Martinsville move on Jarrett, slamming him in the door, causing Jarrett's car to roll several times and bounce off the fencing! Wade, meanwhile, hung the throttle, slammed into the wooden wall so hard he busted a hole in it, and also rolled 2 or 3 times, both coming to rest on their wheels. Neither driver was injured, but their cars were demolished, and that would hand the lead, and eventually the win, to Richard Petty, who at the time, was a lap behind. According to Wade, "He spun me out on the backstretch after I passed him clean, so I made up my mind to get him even if I had to wait on him." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
