At least that's what the spectators were told. I was there that evening in 1964. Also, Billy Wade's car was a 1964 Mercury not a 1963. 3. He worked as a mechanic for Bondy Long on Ned Jarrett's # 11 Ford Galaxie. For the race at Old Bridge, they took Jarrett's back-up car, used masking tape to convert # 11 to # 71 and Hylton raced the car. This was the start of a very long racing career, I think Hylton still runs ARCA today in 2011. This also was one of Lee Petty's last races. I've seen a lot of races over the last 48 years but I'll always remember the night races at Old Bridge. 4. The car owner was Ralph Earnhardt, the father of Dale and grandfather of Junior. The program actually listed Ralph as the driver but White often drove for Earnhardt, especially when the tour came North. 5. Indeed the first 11 starting positions on the grid achieved a time. Other positions (12-22) were allocated in the order of registration for the race. The starting grid with the times will soon be available on the site. We have and will be encoded. 7. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 07.15.2016 - 1:47 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Note: Lineup: position 1 to 11 = time and position 12 to 22 = sign in order of registration. 8. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 07.15.2016 - 1:47 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Note: complete lineup now available on RR. 9. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 07.22.2016 - 11:15 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Update: DNQ/WD : Johnny Allen #66 = engine issue during practice. 10.
