While it is Bristol, it is not the Bristol we know. The banking was not
as steep and the straights were flat.

The car probably developed the problem before the last lap and he had a
big enough lead to where Lorenzen did not catch him until the car failed
entirely.

Buddy Baker won the Saturday qualifying race to earn 25th starting
position, but was replaced by Jimmy Helms in the 500 lap feature.

Brooks and McMahan are both shown as qualifying 24th. No one is shown as
qualifying 34th
