my first super speedway race at 11 years old. My hero(Richard Petty)
blew a tire and crashed on the next to last lap and still finished third.

There was a reason Larry Frank finished 123 laps down in this event.
Rather than trying to do well in the race, Frank took a good deal of
money from Paramount Pictures to strap some movie cameras onto his car
so they could get action shots for their movie "Red Line 7000." He had
to make numerous pit stops so the film crew could keep loading film into
the cameras.

Geez. How many races did Lorenzen win because of others' misfortunes in
the final few laps ?
