I wonder why Paschal was running the 43 vs. the King that night. Richard
had returned to Grand National racing from drag racing by this point of
the season.

i have heard that the king had several drag race appearances already
scheduled and missed some NASCAR events to honor his commitment

BTW, this was a day race. this track did not have lights and the race
was run on a sunday afternoon.
