Ned Jarrett's stats at this track are incredible! In 6 races, he won 4
times, and the other 2 times he was runner up!

Ned's earnings from the track for his victory were $1,000. A Jarrett fan
kicked in an extra $111 so Jarrett's winnings for the season would be
one dollar more than Fred Lorenzen. Now THAT's some fan loyalty.

*Posted on wrong race
A total of 7 manufacturers raced in the 55 races in 1965, here is how
many races each showed up to.
Chevrolet: 54
Dodge: 55
Ford: 55
Mercury: 16
Oldsmobile: 38
Plymouth: 46
Pontiac: 34

For some reason, both 1957 and 1965 were years where Chrysler went from
50+ starts the previous year to no starts for years to come.

The 1962 Chrysler 300 was the last of that make to be suitable for
racing and the eligibility of that car ran out prior to the 1965 season.

Jim Paschal ran the final three races of 1965 for Petty Enterprises and
finished in the top-5 in all of them.

The last of an incredible 12 top fives for Buddy Baker in his dad's cars
that season...in four different makes of cars !
