tom pistone was a major surprise in his independent ford. pistone
battled the factory chysler products tooth and nail until losing an engine.

Paul Goldsmith was originally flagged as the winner, but a re-check of
the scoring gave the win to Paschal

Jim Paschal wins from the pole for the second race in a row. This was
the first of the two times that he would win consecutive Cup races with
this pair of short track victories eventually becoming his only wins of
1966.
