Later, he blew his engine. 2) While James Hylton was running in second, he was forced out of the race with lost oil pressure. 3) Heavy tire wear was an issue all race for most drivers. Reportedly Pearson used 16 ties during the race. He changed the inside tires twice and the outside tires four times. He made his last stop with 60 laps remaining. He was forced to finish with soft-compound tires, but led by enough laps that he was able to go slowly and finish with the win. 2.
