He won 3 races in 1966, but this was definitely his best race, as he competed with over a dozen factory cars, driving his "Junkyard" Chevelle. Allison went on to lead the most laps and battle for the lead with Fred Lorenzon before his engine expired with 6 laps to go. As he drove down the pit road, he waved his hand out the window with a smile on his face, because he let everyone know that Bobby Allison was here to stay. 4. The officials just said the team had to replace it.
