Jim Wright was a journalist for Popular Science magazine. The magazine editor convinced Dodge and Cotton Owens to put him in a car for this race so he could write an article about NASCAR. He qualified well but JT Putney spun him on lap 2 or 3. After the restart, the strain of the spin caused him to break a right front spindle and put him out of the race early. His article was in the August 1967 issue of Popular Science. http://racing-reference.info/showblog?id=3248 2.
