This was Richard Petty's historic 10th straight win, and 27th of the
season. Someone tried to sabotage their effort by putting a nail in one
the tires prior to the start, but King Richard recovered to win by two
laps.

Boy Richard was dominant. He must had a car that blew the socks off the
competition. Most of his wins were on short tracks.

This was the 3rd consecutive race where Dick Hutcherson finished second
to Richard Petty, and the fourth time in five events.

Other drivers who finished runner-up to Petty during his historic run of
10 straight wins: Jim Pascal, John Sears, Elmo Langley, David Pearson,
Jack Ingram, and Bobby Allison (one time each).

And nowadays the "fans" would be upset if the same driver won so many
races in one season and complained about cheating.
