LeeRoy Yarbrough was scheduled to drive the Junior Johnson #26 in this
race but wrecked in practice when the fire extinguisher went off
accidentally. The car was destroyed and he was forced to withdraw.

The speeds shown are an average for a 4-lap qualfiying run.

The first 37 spots in the field were set via qualifying. The final 7
spots were filled by the top 7 finishers in a 20 lap qualifying race
<http://www.racing-reference.info/race/1967-06/X>.

F1 champion Jackie Stewart declined Cotton Owens' invitation to drive
his car, although Stewart did receive an official NASCAR license and was
on the entry list for this race.

J.T. Putney raced his way into this one by winning the last chance
qualifying race. He then finished 11th in the main event with Henley
Gray, another driver who raced in, taking 12th.
