Scott seems to have made the field as an alternate since 70-J.D. McDuffie (Buick) is listed as having made the field in the qualifying race but did not appear. Adams' car was subsequently taken over by Neil Castles, who drove the #06 Plymouth in the qualifying race but was a scratch afterwards. Original lineup had the final two rows as 06/70 and 44/51. Race day lineup had the final two rows as 44/51 and 88/09 4. According to an article in Stock Car Racing Magazine at the time the car had to be 4000 pounds with the 427 but only 3707 with the 396. The lighter weight really paid of as Pearson used less fuel and had fewer tire troubles than many of the other team. Pearson would continue to use the 396 thru-out the year. 6. The "Kenosha Cadillac" made it less than a lap before a blown engine sent him to the sidelines. This was the only time all season anyone raced a Rambler in the Cup series. 7. AMC discontinued the brand in the United States after the 1969 model year. 8.
