Bobby Allison was driving a 1966 Chevelle. He was an independent but for
a good part of the race he was very competitive with LeeRoy and Pearson,
then towards the end, he faded. I remember this race because I went down
to a concession stand to get a soda and Ned Jarrett was standing in line
in front of me. He was doing radio commentary that day. I got to chat
with him. A real class guy.
