to poster #3... meisenhelder has several "flagged" and "quit" on his
record. not exactly with a stellar career, his only top ten was a tenth.
most of the time he was at or near the back when he was running.

I don't remember how many concession stands there were, but I know that
for the last two races held at this track, the Hillsborough Exchange
Club manned at least one of them. My dad was a member and helped work
the stand, I was 8 yrs old and got to tag along.

Kind of amazing that this speedway was around long enough to have seen
guys like Bobby Allison and JD McDuffie, who raced well into the 80's.
Not to mention Richar Petty and James Hylton! The track looks like it
was abandoned 75 years ago rather than still being around when Talladega
was opened.

The track closed in 1968, so you are looking at 52 years of growth.
