Paul Dean Holt's streak of 18 DNF's in a row begins at this race, a
streak which would last until the end of his career. In 85 starts he
only finished 22 races, which is an indication of the lack of
reliability in the era. Either that, or he was just a serial offender in
regards to what would now be called start and parking.

Since the laps in the "Led" column add up to 200, 0s can be filled in
for the rest of the drivers.

Strange how the Wood Brothers towed that far for a 100 mile race.

The race promoter may have paid them extra to come and compete in this
race. It was a common tactic in this era. Or maybe they just wanted to
be a part of the last race of the season?

Don Tomberlin makes his Cup debut, ultimately he would only start three
races in the series with this 15th-place run as his best finish. On the
other side of the coin Maine racer Stan Meserve makes his final start in
the series and his only one in Roy Tyner's #09 Chevrolet.

This was also the last start for Dexter Gainey. Despite crashing out his
24th place finish here was his best.
