Outside the track, I rememember Ford had a large tent that included among other items on display - a black 1969 BOSS 429 Mustang! Before the race, there was a parade of 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II's. These cars were intended to be sold at dealerships I suppose - and with tires squealing in front of the grandstand - show that these were production cars as well. 4. I believe this was when the rule was changed to impound the tires after qualifying. 8. Hamilton finished in the top-5 but this would be his last Cup race of 1969 as he focused on running in the Grand American division. The next time he was in a Cup race was Daytona Speedweeks 1970 when he made his famous debut for Petty Enterprises. 10. After a short delay they got it legalized and turned loose the beast here. The prototype for the street going Torino Talladega was actually built by Holman and Moody at their race shop so the model was always constructed by Ford with NASCAR in mind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
