Surely Glotzbach should be ahead of LeeRoy Yarbrough if they are both on
lap 249 but Glotzbach finished but Yarborough didn't.

#3: NASCAR's official race report matches what's shown here. Cale &
LeeRoy got together during the final lap and LeeRoy tried to limp back
to the finish line but came up just short.

LeeRoy completed about 249.75 laps, Glotzbach was a full lap down.

lee roy finished his 249 laps before glotzbach , thus the better position.

The only 500 mile race at Michigan. Kinda surprised it was the only one
considering the Cup series prior to 2010 had a lot longer races. 2 500
mile Pocono races, 500 mile Auto Club race, and a 600 KM Phoenix
race(that was a one off). Considering how fast this track is(or was), a
500 mile race would've made sense to run over Auto Club.

Looking back at footage from this one it's amazing how much has changed.
It appears there were a number of farms right behind the backstretch
when this track was built. They are all gone now.
