Cale & LeeRoy got together during the final lap and LeeRoy tried to limp back to the finish line but came up just short. LeeRoy completed about 249.75 laps, Glotzbach was a full lap down. 5. dozierthegreat posted: 11.20.2012 - 1:38 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Sponsor for #22 - Bobby Allison - Hutton Scott Dodge 6. rob posted: 04.18.2013 - 12:02 pm Rate this comment: (4) (0) lee roy finished his 249 laps before glotzbach , thus the better position. 7. b4il3y posted: 07.25.2014 - 4:38 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) The comments for this race for the first race at Michigan make me embarrassed to be a racing fan. 8. nascar_vd / racing-reference.info posted: 04.02.2016 - 9:05 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Note: Driver point standings after this race: (top20) 1) David Pearson = 1690 points 2) Richard Petty = 1626 3) James Hylton = 1507 4) Elmo Langley = 1477 5) Neil Castles = 1458 6) Bobby Isaac = 1325 7) E.J. Kinda surprised it was the only one considering the Cup series prior to 2010 had a lot longer races. 2 500 mile Pocono races, 500 mile Auto Club race, and a 600 KM Phoenix race(that was a one off). Considering how fast this track is(or was), a 500 mile race would've made sense to run over Auto Club. 11. Motors #98 LeeRoy Yarbrough- Mercury Cyclone / Jim Robbins Special Looking back at footage from this one it's amazing how much has changed. It appears there were a number of farms right behind the backstretch when this track was built. They are all gone now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
