R.I.P. LeeRoy... 5. simonracer posted: 01.19.2015 - 3:54 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Jabe Thomas was on pole for the qualifying race, held on the Saturday before the race. John Kennedy & Wayne Gilette were in the qualifying race, they got into an accident together and were knocked out of the race. 6. nascar_vd / Racing-Reference.info posted: 01.23.2017 - 12:17 pm Rate this comment: (2) (0) Note: the first 30 positions on the grid per qualifying time. Position trough 31 to 40 = order of the finish of the qualifying run. 2-lap qualifying run and multiple session. DNQ: Bob Ashbrook withdraw for a reason unknow but initially qualified 39th for the race. Note: the withdraw of Ashbrook allows Ken Meisenhelder to win a place on the grid. And allows Wayne Smith to take the 40th and final position. But finally Earl Brook drove the car #33 for Smith in the race. 7.
