No, Tide, the smallest Cup fields were 12 cars. Even the modern era had
smaller fields (if I recall right, the 1975 spring Richmond race was
smaller than this with 22 cars.)

Oh plus there was that race where all the independents start 'n' parked
so in effect there were a really small number of cars actually racing
that day, and I think it was less than 12, but I don't remember which
race that was.

They've had fields of 12 on several occasions.

The race before this one had a field of 22.

12 is less than 25.

22 is less than 25.
