Donnie Allison's Banjo Matthews Ford was a 1970 model.I remember
watching this race on TV.Richard Petty had everyone covered on this
day.LeeRoy Yarbrough was the only one who could even stay on the same
lap with him most of the race.Something happened toward the end dropping
LeeRoy to 3rd.

ABC announcer Jim McKay described Richard Petty as looking like "a
Confederate war hero" with his new sideburns during the broadcast of
this race while talking about Petty was considered handsome by the
sport's southern female fans. I'm pretty sure that remark wouldn't be
considered a compliment today.
