It was live on ABC's Wide World of Sports. 4. Sébastien posted: 07.27.2009 - 12:49 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Petty #43 sponsor was Southern Chrysler & Plymouth 5. I don't know if it is a mistake or not, but if anybody could crew chief two cars at once, it'd definitely be Dale Inman. 10. Donnie Allison was probably away qualifying for the Indy 500, but it seems strange that the Wood Brothers entry was not present. 11. Also, other "unknown" items appear to be falling all out of the car. The excess material were Petty's cool rags that he would chew own during the race to stay hydrated. At the time, he used red towels. When they began falling, one commentator thought that they were seeing Petty literally coming apart and falling out on the the track. 13. The Mopar stalwart posted a strong run in his return as he brought his #5 Charger home with a sixth-place finish, his best of the season. 14. He did not get the Coke sponsorship until later in the 1970 season. https://media.gettyimages.com/photos/bobby-allison-pits-his-mario-rossi-dodge-charger-daytona-during-a-picture-id109185593?s=2048x2048 15.
